Speaking at the “First Volunteer Activation Forum” in Kumasi, he said that through his leadership he was building a platform for power-sharing arrangements under the Government of National Unity.
The Volunteer Activation Forum aims to approach and attract new members to the movement and teach and train young people on how to win votes in the 2024 general election.
More than 4,000 youth volunteers from the Ashanti region participated in the forum, demonstrating their readiness to support John Alan Kyeremanteng’s campaign for change.
United in yellow T-shirts embossed with the monarch butterfly logo, the young people pledged unflinching support for the new movement and Kyeremten’s transformative and unifying leadership agenda.
Kyeremteng said he has made various contributions to the development of Ghana and that his achievements make him well placed to serve as Ghana’s next president.
He reflected on how he was able to transform Ghana’s economy as Minister of Trade in President Kufuor’s government and said Ghana’s youth should trust him as the next president.
Kyerematen explained that domestic decision-making is problematic due to lack of public participation, and the government will ensure inclusive decision-making by the public.
He said the NPP and NDC had ruled the country for the past 30 years, but still there had been no improvement in the lives of the people.
The former trade minister called on Ghana to carefully reflect on the current situation in the country, consider new political leaders outside of their political affiliations, and choose people who can change the country’s destiny.
He said the “Volunteer Activation Forum” would be replicated in all 16 regions to form a group of young men and women who are motivated to think about the future of the country and work to create new leadership for the next generation.
