The Managing Director (MD) of Ghana Publishing House, Mr. David Asante, has announced his candidacy for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries in Nkaukau.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Dec. 5, Asante said his decision came after extensive consultation with party officials in the constituency.
Mr. Asante expressed his determination to provide quality leadership and said he would aim to ensure that Mr. Nkaukau takes his rightful place in Ghanaian politics.
He expressed confidence in his success in the primary and gave him the opportunity to serve his district honestly and honestly.
βFollowing extensive consultations with the New Patriotic Party leadership at polling stations, constituencies, regional and national levels, I have decided to contest the parliamentary primary in Nkoukau constituency.β
“I hope that this time with the support of the delegation, I will be successful and serve the people with integrity and sincerity,” he wrote in a post.
This will be David Asante’s second attempt to secure a parliamentary seat after his 2020 bid failed.
The NPP National Executive Committee (NEC) has scheduled parliamentary primaries for January 20, 2024 in constituencies with incumbent members.
The nomination period for interested candidates will open from December 20 to December 22, 2023, and detailed guidelines will be provided for the conduct of the primary elections.
The party said it looks forward to the full cooperation of all stakeholders in this process and therefore wishes the aspiring candidates the best of luck.
