North Tongu Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has indicated that the National Democratic Congress presidential candidate John Mahama will deliver on his 24-hour economic policy as promised.
He maintained that the policy is a panacea to Ghana’s economic crisis as it focuses on industrialization and job creation and Ghanaians must rally behind the policy.
“We have a transformational leader in former President Mahama who is dynamic, visionary and gets the job done. He is a results person, so when you say he will deliver a 24-hour economy, you are referring to him. We can see that we can be trusted,” Ablakwa told Joy News at the NDC booth at the ongoing 6th Volta Trade and Investment Fair. At Ho.
Mr. Ablakwa stressed that a 24-hour economy is possible as experienced in developed countries and therefore Ghana can do the same.
He indicated that the NDC’s 24-hour economic policy would ensure that both public and private enterprises run three shifts to keep the country’s economy running throughout the day.
He explained that private companies that subscribe to the policy will receive incentives such as tax rebates and special discounts on utility bills to enable them to operate the proposed three-shift system.
But he denied claims by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) that a 24-hour economy is already in place, saying the government is introducing half-hearted policies focused on the night economy in the 2024 budget. he added. , it was an afterthought.
“The reality is that there is no 24-hour economy, and no such policy exists. I’m a member of Congress, but where is the blueprint, the policy, the laws that support the so-called 24-hour economy? It doesn’t exist.
“They continue to cheat and the last time their candidate tried to confirm this was [24-hour economy] What he was talking about about chop bars is that there are some chop bars that are open at night.we [NDC] We are not talking about chop bars in Bawumia, we are talking about the transformation of the entire economy,” he stressed.
