The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) created a locally assembled mini Jeep to facilitate transport within the barracks.
Warrant Officer Class 1 Awal Mohammed, a driver with GAF, is credited with assembling the mini Jeep, which is codenamed GAMIJ (Ghana Army Mini Jeep).
The Jeep has low fuel consumption and is retails at GH¢60,000.
The new vehicle was unveiled during a West African Soldier Socialization Activity (WASSA) in Accra.

KsTU manufactures an electric car
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that some students at the Kumasi Technical University (KsTu) have built an electric vehicle.
In a video seen by YEN.com.gh on the GH One TV Facebook page, the head of the Automotive Engineering and Agricultural Mechanization department at KsTu said the university does not see the casting of carbon canisters as an achievement as it is believed.
As a department, he said there were innovative things like the electric vehicle that students were working on.

A young Ghanaian engineer has been applauded for his creativity and ingenuity after building an electric vehicle.
The car runs on five car batteries and can cover 100 kilometers when fully charged.
