Guinness World Records has received more than 350 applications from Ghana since July 2023.
According to Guinness World Record holder Alina Polyanskaya, there were a total of 355 applications in Ghana alone.
Again, out of the 355, GWR received 251 applications by the end of December 2023 and a whopping 80 applications as of January 5, 2024.
From cook-a-thons to sing-a-thons, people from all over the region are showing an unprecedented passion to push their limits.
December 2023 Ghanaian broadcast journalist Afua Asantewa Aduonum broke the Guinness World Record for longest individual singing marathon, breaking the record on Friday (December 29) by singing for an unprecedented 126 hours and 52 minutes. Completed attempt to overturn.
βIt has been amazing to see the enthusiasm for record-breaking over the past year and I look forward to seeing more successes in the future,β Polyanskaya said.
However, she stressed that only a small number of applications could become records. She says, “In context, only a small number of applications become records, and about 95% of applications do not convert to records.”
Now Ghana’s Failatu Abdul Razak is officially embarking on a journey to break the Guinness World Records record for longest solo cook.
