National Democratic Congress (NDC) Deputy General Secretary Mustapha Gbande has accused New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of trying to sow conflict within the opposition party.
He claims that Dr Bawumia is secretly visiting NDC party leaders to persuade them to support him in his bid to seize political power in the 2024 elections.
His comments come after Northern Regional Finance Minister Hajia Razak Shamima and Regional Vice-Chairman Gbewa allegedly got into a fight over party funds at the party office on January 14, 2024. It was conducted.
But Mustopaha Gbande believes the vice president is behind it, adding that party national chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah had visited the constituency a week ago to reconcile the conflicting constituencies.
βThere was no meeting held in the Northern Region yesterday. What happened between the two executives of the Northern Region was an incident that took place at the regional office of the Northern Region Branch of the NDC.
βThe only reason they would do this is that Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia decided to invade the homes of NDC officials in the north and secretly drove to their homes at night with a driver alone,β he said. said.
He further said that the head of the economic management team has decided not to get involved in the economy, but is “trying to deepen the rift in the NDC to take advantage of his popularity in North Korea.”
Meanwhile, Gbande said the party is yet to receive official reports from the area to know what happened.
