The event, jointly organized by the German Handball Association, Stadionwelt and the European Handball Federation (EHF), is set to take place on January 25 and 26 at the Deutsches Sport & Olympia Museum in Cologne.
The Handball Leadership Conference will focus around three main themes or pillars of the business side of the sport: monetization, sustainability and digitization. Over 20 experts in their fields will share their knowledge and experience focusing on these three topics.
Key experts to provide critical insights for a more sustainable sport
Sustainability is of huge importance as the EHF aims to highlight the importance of the environment and has made huge strides in recent years in creating sustainable events, both at club and national team level, including the TruckScout24 EHF FINAL4 or previous EHF editions EURO.
The contribution of professional sport in terms of environmental, social and corporate governance has been left behind and experts such as Christopher Jahns, board member for sustainability and development at Füchse Berlin and co-chairman of the HBL Handball Bundesliga sustainability task force. Handball is becoming increasingly popular in key markets across Europe and social media is a key part of its success, as has been proven time and time again in recent years.
