The Director-General of the Ghana Enterprises Authority, Mr Kgosi Yankee Eye, has revealed that the Ghana Enterprises Authority has successfully disbursed over GH₵700 million to support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the country.
Speaking on JoyNews’ PM Express, Madam Yankee Ai highlighted the critical impact of these interventions to empower and sustain various businesses across various sectors during and after the COVID-19 outbreak. He emphasized that this fund is useful.
When asked about the appropriateness of the expenditure, she replied: “In life, you should never be satisfied with what you have. So I want more and I think people want more. So the question is not, ‘Is enough enough?’ ?’The question should be, “How can we do more for people?” ”
The Chief Executive said the government is focused on continuous improvement and expansion of support to MSMEs.
She said, “No government or agency in the history of this country has spent this much money on small, medium, and small businesses. This is unprecedented and has never happened before.” said.
Madam Yankee Eye emphasized the importance of not only assessing the adequacy of funding, but also recognizing the unprecedented nature of the Agency’s efforts in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises.
She urged a shift in perspective, saying, “We shouldn’t be asking the question, ‘Is it too small?'” Because it doesn’t matter, it even matters that you try. ”
The Chief Executive’s disclosure is a testament to the Ghana Enterprise Authority’s commitment to fostering economic growth through the empowerment of MSMEs.
The disbursed funds are aimed at providing financial support, promoting entrepreneurship and contributing to the overall development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the country.
As the agency continues to make strides in supporting the business community, it remains focused on increasing its impact on entrepreneurs and exploring further avenues to further boost Ghana’s economic performance.
