Famous Nigerian TikToker VeryDarkMan has tried Ghanaian jollof for the first time and his reviews have sparked discussions on social media.
VeryDarkMan tastes jollof rice from Ghana
In the video, A Very Dark Man he had a jollof dish with coleslaw and meat, and after tasting the first spoonful of the meal, expressed his displeasure at the lack of spices.
The famous TikToker questioned whether the lack of flavor was due to the carrot not being mixed with the jollof, but alas, it was not.

He then decided to pour some of the water in his glass into the food the video to see if it would taste better, but it still didn’t.
“Where’s the spice? Nigerian jollof is better. Nigerian jollof over Ghanaian jollof. Don’t play,” he said.
He then went on to praise a Nigerian chef who broke the Guinness World Record for longest cooking hours in 2023, Hilda Baci. He stated that Ghanaian chefs need lessons from Hilda to improve the quality of their jollof rice.

‘Ghana Jollof lacks flavour’: Hilda Baci says as Ghanaians rage on social media
YEN.com.gh reported that Hilda Bachi sparked debate on social media and upset many Ghanaians after she claimed that Ghanaian jollof had no taste.
During an interview with UK-based podcast 90sBabyShow, the former Guinness World Record holder said she had tried jollof from Ghana, but it wasn’t up to par.
She spoke highly of the jollof from her country, Nigeria, saying it was better than the one from Ghana.
