Jetstream Africathe continent’s leading digital freight company due to growth in shipments and capital raising, has officially launched its product, Jetvision.aian AI platform designed to revolutionize cross-border trade in Africa.
About Jetstream Africa
Founded in 2018, Jetstream has quickly become a key player in Africa’s e-logistics sector, notable for its significant customer base in West Africa and the impressive amount of equity and debt it has raised. Jetstream’s expertise in leveraging technology to reduce the friction involved in the logistics and financing process has positioned it as a critical enabler for economic development in Africa.
Driving The News
Jetvision.ai, Jetstream’s proprietary e-logistics and finance platform, aims to connect Africa 50,000 freight forwarders and 2 million exporting and importing businesses with AI-enabled process automation, document management and trade finance, as well as API integrations for insurance, payments and other core trade support services.
The platform is designed to enhance growth and profitability and significantly reduce the time required to move goods across African borders.
Because this matters
The launch of Jetvision.ai follows a year of rapid growth in the number of shipments tracked and managed by Jetstream on its predecessor software platform, Jetvision 1.0.
Jetvision 1.0 was an internal tool created for Jetstream’s operations and finance staff that allowed it to increase monthly shipment volume per customer 44% on an annual basis. With the funding and Jetvision, customers could double their volume in a year.
What they say
“Jetvision.ai represents our commitment to innovation and dedication to supporting Africa’s commerce ecosystem,” he said Dede Miishe Addy, CEO of Jetstream Africa. “By integrating artificial intelligence into our operations, we not only optimize logistics and finance, but also enable businesses everywhere to thrive in the global marketplace.”
“Before Jetvision, most of our operations were managed in spreadsheets, emails and WhatsApp chats. When we launched the platform internally, we saw how quickly our onshore operations teams embraced it. Within weeks, they were returning to it several times a day to manage and track shipments.” he said Solomon TorbgorCOO of Jetstream.
We added finance and accounting features mid-year and it was a game changer in improving collaboration between our operations and finance teams. This showed us a path forward to open Jetvision to the full industry,” he added.
What happens next?
In 2023, the company has successfully facilitated the logistics and financing of more than 700 containers, demonstrating its significant impact in trade sectors such as agriculture, clean energy, pharmaceuticals and consumer goods.
With plans to expand to Africa’s 13 highest volume trading markets over the next two years, Jetstream’s introduction of Jetvision.ai is a step forward in creating a sustainable and efficient trading ecosystem in Africa.
By harnessing the power of artificial intelligence, Jetstream not only addresses current logistical and financing challenges, but also anticipates the future needs of cross-border trade in Africa.
