President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has released GH150 million to contractors to fix potholes across the country.
On Thursday, February 15, the Ministry of Roads and Highways issued a statement signed by the Head of Public Relations Unit, Nasir Ahmad Yartey, saying the amount is part of the first quarter announcements from the Ministry of Finance to the Ministry of Roads and Highways.
According to the announcement, the intervention will allow the Ghana Highways Authority and the Urban Roads Department to optimize the dry season to undertake routine pothole filling activities on several major roads deteriorated due to heavy rainfall in 2023.

“The Department hopes that this early intervention will result in smoother road surfaces, help reduce the risk of accidents and extend the life of our road infrastructure.” said part of the statement.
