Damongo Constituency Member of Parliament and Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel A. Jinapoh, has slammed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, for their 24-hour economic policy, saying: He said so. Just as a slogan.
He said when the NDC and Mr Mahama were in charge of the economy for four years, they plunged the country into a power crisis and could not even provide a 12-hour economy.
According to the minister, this record of the NDC shows that the 24-hour economy it envisions cannot be trusted.
Speaking at a ceremony in Damongo where he was hailed as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Damongo constituency on Saturday, February 17, 2024, Mr. Jinapoh said the NDC has failed to explain to the people the so-called 24-hour economy. Stated.Ordinary Ghanaians and their records in government marked by Dumusole [Power cuts]it is clear that it cannot provide a 24-hour economy.
Last month, the NPP held parliamentary primaries to elect parliamentary candidates in constituencies with incumbent members of parliament.
In Damongo constituency, no one challenged the incumbent MP, Mr. Jinapole.
According to the party’s constitution, only that person can be nominated and recognized as a parliamentary candidate once nominations have been completed.
This is the second consecutive time that Jinapoh has remained unopposed in the Damongo constituency.
The ceremony to commend the minister as a parliamentary candidate drew several dignitaries to the constituency, including Party General Secretary Justin Frimpong Kodua, Minister of Roads and Highways, Bantama Provincial Member of Parliament, and Minister of Chief Minister Francis Asenso Boakye. Ta. Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Minister for Religious Affairs, and Fatima Abubakar, Minister-designate for Information.
In his address at the ceremony, Mr. Ginapore called on Ghanaians to vote in large numbers for the NPP presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
He said Dr. Bawumia, when elected President of the Republic, developed policies and strategies to take Ghana to the next level in just two months after his election.
On the contrary, he said, Mr Mahama has failed to offer Ghanaians any substantive policy proposals and is instead calling for a honeymoon period if elected.
Jinapole said that although the NDC has touted its supposed 24-hour economy, it has failed to explain what this will mean for Ghanaians.
“When you ask people what 24-hour economy means, they either say Jack Toronto or something else.”
The minister said Mr Mahama threw the economy into chaos when he became president. [Power crisis]and small businesses collapsed.
He asked how someone who cannot cover the day’s finances will cover the night finances.
“For four years… during the day the tailors couldn’t work, there was no economy for the welders, carpenters, joiners and thousands and millions of Ghanaians. So how are we going to provide a 24-hour economy? “Is that so?” asked Mr. Zinapo.
The Minister said that modern developments revolve around technology and digitalization around the world.
He said that even as Vice-President, Dr. Bawumia has championed policies that will bring much-needed development to Ghanaians and has proven that if elected President, he can take Ghana to the next level. He said there was.
He called on Ghanaians to rally behind the nuclear power plant and Dr. Bawumia and continue the progressive policies being implemented by the government.
