Ghanaian rapper Kwa Kese has hit back at Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia’s “driver-cum-companion” analogy.
In a bid to convince Ghanaians to vote for him and support his plans for national growth, Dr Bawumia likened himself to a “driver’s buddy” who currently has limited power to make major changes. suggested.
Mr. Bawumia said this while explaining his vision to Ghanaians at the UPSA auditorium. But if God, by His grace, makes me President, I will be in the driver’s seat with constitutional authority to pursue my vision and priorities. ”
However, Kwa Kese firmly believes that his comrades are just as important as the driver. The rapper emphasized that the “trotromates” play an important role in filling the vehicles with passengers, stressing that without their contribution the vehicles usually would not depart.
Bawumia said he described it as “just an excuse”. Kwa Kese said his colleagues can also develop useful strategies and give instructions to drivers.
“If the comrade doesn’t load the car, the car will never start. So, as a comrade, if you have an idea about how to fill the interior of the car with passengers, you need to make that idea a reality. He becomes the driver We shouldn’t wait until then,” he told Abeiku Santana during a discussion on OK FM.
Asked what he thought about Bawumia’s plan to introduce digital and streaming platforms to help Ghanaian artistes succeed, Kwawu Kese said, “It’s nice to say, but if the poor provide clothes, Please ask for the person’s name.” If your Excellency wants to do that, he should start it now rather than waiting until after he is elected. ”
Meanwhile, other critics, including some members of the opposition National Democratic Party (NDC), have expressed varying opinions on Mr Bawumia’s ‘trotromate’ analogy.
Mr Kwaku Boaeng, a former communications deputy of the NDC, said the NPP flag bearer was not fit to be the president of the country.
“If I own a car and the driver says he won’t drive it anymore, should I give it to a friend who is inexperienced, doesn’t have a driver’s license, and who I don’t trust? Who doesn’t?” Mr Boahen asked rhetorically during a debate on Peace FM.
