The Canadian Visa Application Center apologized for the overcrowding observed outside its facility.
Long queues have become a source of frustration among Ghanaians who express concern about the lack of shelter from the sun, prompting calls for a permanent solution.
International Organization for Migration (IOM) National Director Kojo Wilmot expressed the Centre’s regrets and stressed that it was not the Centre’s intention to force individuals to wait outside.
“We treat everyone with dignity, respect and care. It is a problem for me that when I go to the visa application center I see so many people sitting in line under trees. ” Wilmot said.
“While we are very sorry to see such queues and are no doubt happy to see situations like this, we are constantly improving our systems and providing the best possible service to our customers. Convince them that as long as we strive to ensure that we have an efficient service delivery system, opportunities will also present themselves, so there is no need for large numbers of people to come to the center for these things. .”
Mr Willmott apologized for any inconvenience caused and emphasized the centre’s commitment to continuous improvement of service delivery.
He addressed the issue of overcrowding, noting that it was caused by applicants coming with family, friends and even pastors. Mr Willmott stressed the need for everyone to stick to their booking times to avoid unnecessary crowding and urged people to oppose such practices.
“We recommend that it is not necessary to come to the center with a chaplain to help submit an application or conduct biometric verification, as we have no say in the decisions that are ultimately made. Because we don’t have it,” Bernard said.of Avre City Breakfast Show upon City FM Thursday, February 22, 2024.
