Famous Ghanaian musician and businessman Kwame Nsiah-Apau popularly known as Okyeame Kwame has reacted to reports that he is a member of Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia’s manifesto committee for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a press statement issued to the media, the famous rapper categorically denied that he is politically affiliated with the NPP or that he received any compensation for alleged involvement in the committee.

“I want to assure my followers that I remain impartial and non-partisan in politics, a stance I have maintained throughout my career,” Okyeame Kwame asserted.

Okyeame Kwame’s name was included in a list of 15 persons named last week as members of the NPP manifesto committee on Tourism, Arts and Culture.
The panel co-chaired by director Juliet Asante and Ghana Tourism Authority boss Akwasi Agyemang included actor Prince David Osei and prominent entertainment personalities.

In his statementthe singer emphasized that his expertise is available to all political parties interested in tapping into his knowledge of the creative arts industry, not just the NPP.
However, the creator of ‘Yekoo’ says he has neither received an official invitation nor participated in any official capacity.

Okyeame Kwame declares his ‘love’ as he celebrates 15 years of marriage
