Max Verstappen has said he “trusts the process” regarding the outcome of the investigation into Red Bull boss Christian Horner following allegations of misconduct.
Horner is under investigation by Red Bull’s parent company over allegations of misconduct, which he has vehemently denied.
A decision is expected on Wednesday, before practice begins on Thursday for the season opener in Bahrain.
The two-time world champion said he hoped it would be “resolved very soon” when asked by reporters on Wednesday.
“Is not [affect me]I am very focused on the performance of the car myself and I hope it will be resolved very soon.
“I trust the process, that’s what’s going on right now. That’s the thing I bring up with her. But other than that, when you’re talking about performance, it’s really important that everyone stays together.”
Asked if Horner’s absence would reduce Verstappen’s chance of a third world title, the 26-year-old said Horner, 50, is an important part of the team and Red Bull are focused on performance ahead of the weekend and “thrilled to win going again.
“He’s very important or he wouldn’t be in this position for so long. Let’s say if your team boss disappears for whatever reason for a game or two not much is going to happen because everyone is in their role and you know what to do in the short term and it’s all about managing people over time. Then of course things will start to be different, one of the leaders starts not being there anymore, but we don’t think like that.
“Like I said before, we trust the process we’re in as a team to see what the outcome will be. Other than that, everyone is focused on performance here on the track and everyone is in a good mood and excited to get going again.”
