Taking to his X account On March 5, 2024, Meek Mill announced to his millions of fans his dream of switching nationalities and his preferred country was Ghana.
He stated that the reason for the change was because, growing up in America, there was this constant tendency of the system to tear black people down.

Some of Meek Mill’s concerned fans in the comments section highlighted the passage of the anti-LGBTQ bill by Parliament and said that such practices were acceptable in the US and not in Ghana.
Others also jokingly begged him to exchange his American passport for their Ghanaian passport.
