In October 2022, Darkomencer took the two defendants to court for defamation, demanding a fine of 1 million Greek francs for defamatory statements made against him.
The summons was filed on October 14, 2022 by the plaintiff’s attorney, Parkwood & Mossan.
The plaintiff states in the complaint that the first defendant is the self-styled head of Dongpim Pepesa, also known as Nana Nyongwa Panyin IV, and the second defendant is a legally registered legal entity. I said no. It is engaged in the media and entertainment business in the Republic of Ghana.
The plaintiff claims that on October 10, 2022, the defendant Joy FM Super Morning Showowned and operated by the second defendant, in whose interview the first defendant made false allegations against his person.
According to the plaintiff, the first defendant in the interview alleged that the plaintiff, along with two other government officials, was involved in illegal mining, or “galamsey,” in the Dompim-Pepesa area of the Western Region.
After being interviewed about the second defendant, the plaintiff stated: Joy FM Super Morning Showthe second defendant published defamatory content of the first defendant on its website, which platform is appreciated by patrons and readers from all walks of life around the world.
“The outlandish allegations made by the first and second defendants are completely false, baseless and unjustified,” the plaintiff added.
It is also noteworthy that the plaintiff stated that the first defendant had irrefutable evidence of the plaintiff’s involvement in illegal mining activities in the Dompim-Pepesa area, but it is clear that the first defendant did not submit that evidence. did.
The plaintiff stated that over the years he had built up an enviable reputation in his personal, political and professional life, but the publication in question had seriously tarnished his image.
The plaintiff said the defendant refused to retract the defamatory statements and apologize.
The plaintiff further pointed out that the defendants would have continued the defamation unless forced to do so by the court.
