Egypt dominates the medal table
After asserting their dominance in table tennis in both men’s and women’s singles and doubles, led by Omar Assar and 16-year-old sensation Hana Goda, Egypt maintained their momentum.
Hannah’s achievement made her the youngest Continental Cup winner at the event, according to GTVSports.
After their unparalleled dominance at the tables, the North African country quickly made a splash in the pool, engaging in a battle for supremacy with South Africa as both nations made their mark on the podium.
In the latest developments, Egypt took the lead with an impressive 84 medals, securing a further 11 gold medals to their growing tally on Monday 11 March.

Nigeria’s rise can be credited to its outstanding performance in weightlifting, where it won an impressive eight gold medals in men’s and women’s events.
Ghana begins on a stuttering note
In contrast, Ghana, the host country of the 13th African Games, experienced a major setback in its pursuit of medals, starting with table tennis and moving on to other disciplines.
However, on Sunday 10 March, Winnifred Ntumi broke the medal drought for the West African nation by sweeping an impressive tally of three medals: 1 gold and 2 silver medals in weightlifting.
Adding some more good news to the West African nation was Abeiku Jackson, who won a silver medal in the men’s 50m butterfly, finishing with a time of 24.23 seconds.
Ghana is currently ranked 10th and can climb higher if they secure another medal in swimming.
