“The masked man chased me through the hallway and the outdoor kitchen,” he added. “It was outside that he fired the gun at me.”
“The shock wave of the bullet hit me in the head, as if someone had hit me in the head with a brick,” he said.
βThe bullet hit the metal security buzzer between the fence walls. I kept running outside, screaming armed robbery, armed robbery.
βI started running and flailing because I could tell he intended to keep firing at me.
“I ran away to my neighbor’s house about four houses away. As I was running towards my neighbor’s house, I passed him and he stopped chasing me when he realized he was losing the chase. I quit,β he said in testimony to the jury.
Neighbor safety intervention
He told the jury: “Some of the neighbors came out, as well as the security guard at the neighbor’s house.”
He said: “I was standing next door and saw a masked man go back into the house, sit in his car and drive away.”
“I went to the house with some neighbors and then went to untie my wife,” he said, adding, “After I untied my wife, she kept telling me that the masked man was Pius.” said.β
t-shirt identity
When told the suspect’s name, he said: “As I was standing next door I saw a masked man with a T-shirt that said police on the back, so I didn’t suspect this.” said.
βI had seen this T-shirt worn by Pius, a former security guard, when he was working at home. And when I asked him why he was wearing a police T-shirt, he always said, I replied that the shirt belonged to my brother.
βThen my wife told me that Ernest, the night guard, was tied up in the next room. I went to the next room and untied the guard and realized he couldn’t breathe. .
“I immediately arranged for the night watchman to be taken to the nearest hospital, namely Incombe Hospital on Spintex Road,” the juror said.

A third witness said he arrived at the church around 7pm that day and found the auditorium so full that he had to sit outside for the entire service.
He told the court that the program was almost over and he had to go and make an offering at the altar. “So I went into the auditorium to make an offering on the altar.”
looking for a wife
He said that when he entered the auditorium, he searched the choristers on stage but could not find his “wife, who was a chorister.”
“When I got back outside, I called the usher and asked a neighbor to tell me where my wife was and come get me,” he explained.
βThe response was that my wife told me to take the lead. Then I kept calling my wife.
“I didn’t hear back from her, and the show was coming to an end, so I drove home,” he told jurors.
Uber with double hazard lights on

A third witness said: βWhen I opened the gate I saw a gray Nissan Sentra parked under the carport with its double hazard lights on.
βI approached the driver and asked him what he was doing at home.β βHe (the Uber driver) said he was an Uber driver and what he was doing for us at home. I said I was doing something.
“I went out the gate and drove into the property. I got out of the car and entered the house through the kitchen door. Even though the house had a front door, it served as the main door,β he told the jury.
blood stain
Quartey told the court and jury that when he entered the home through the kitchen door, the door was already open, even though the lights were off.
“I tried to go into the living room from the kitchen and found the door locked. I then walked down the hallway to my bedroom and noticed the bedroom door was open and the light was on. β he said.
He said that when I looked into the bedroom, there was blood all over the floor leading to the bathroom.
“When I went into the bedroom, the bathroom door was slightly ajar. I looked into the toilet and saw my wife tied to the toilet seat with a bunch of stuff in her hands. There were sponges, there was also a necktie.
βI walked towards my wife, wanting to untie her.
“When I tried to open the bathroom door wide, a masked man came out from behind the door and pointed a gun at me,” he said.
