To strengthen its educational infrastructure and ensure a better learning environment, Anroga Avete D/A Basic School has welcomed a major addition with the official commissioning of a brand new six-unit classroom block.
This project is a product of Bui Power Authority’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative and is a testament to their commitment to regional development and educational advancement.
The commissioning ceremony was held in an atmosphere of celebration and gratitude, with Hong Jeong, CEO of Buoy Power Authority, in attendance. Samuel Kofi Ahiawe Zamesie and his esteemed guests consisting of community leaders, teachers, students and residents of Anloga Avete.
The newly constructed six-unit, two-storey classroom block is a modern and spacious facility that is poised to transform the learning experience for students at Anloga Avete D/A Basic School.
Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, the block provides suitable spaces for teaching and learning, ensuring students receive a quality education in a comfortable environment.

Speaking at the ceremony, His Excellency, Mr. Samuel Kofi Ahiawe Zamesie, highlighted Bui Power Authority’s unwavering dedication to supporting the education of local communities.
“We believe that investing in education is investing in the future of our nation. This classroom block is symbolic of our commitment to providing our youth with the tools they need to succeed.”

Mr. Samuel Kofi-Zameshie pointed out that Buoy Power has the mandate to develop all renewable energy sources in Ghana, including wind energy, noting that research in Ghana has shown that Anro district has the power to add electricity to the national grid. It has been proven to have the highest wind speeds that can be delivered, it added.

“The Bui Power Authority will explore the development of this God-given wind resource in Anloga District to make the district self-sufficient in electricity,” said Samuel Kofi Ahiawe Zamesie.
“This commission marks an important milestone in our efforts to support education in the communities in which we operate. We believe that investing in education is investing in the future. It is our responsibility as a company to actively contribute to the development of society.” Zameshi.
The impact of the new facility was evident among participants, with teachers expressing excitement about the possibilities it offers. “This classroom block is a game-changer for us,” said Senanu Besler, vice principal at the school. “We now have the space and resources to provide our students with a high-quality education and enable them to excel academically.”

In his address, Anroga District Chief Executive Seth Yormeu said the commissioning was a special occasion for the people of Anlo Kingdom and praised the act of kindness of the Bui Power Authority, symbolizing their dedication to education. Stated.
Chairman of the New Patriotic Party in the Volta Region, Makafui Kofi Woanya, commended the CEO of Bui Electricity Authority for his compassion towards Anro residents, adding that the governing nuclear power plant is delivering on its promises.
Mr. Makafui Kofi Woanya said that politics is all about development, not ethnicity but how the nation and its resources are properly managed by the government. He said the people needed to rally behind a nuclear power plant under their control to bring about development. .

Anloga’s Superintendent Dominic Yao Zanado thanked the gesture and called for the school to be fenced off, as well as pledging to ensure it is properly maintained.
