Kumawood director and actor Benjamin Sarpong aka Director Famous has defended his colleague Kwadwo Nkansah aka Lil Win over recent criticisms.
Lil Win is currently filming his cross-cultural movie, A Country Called Ghana, which features Nigerian actors Ramsey Nouah, Victor Osuagwualso known as Awilo Sharp Sharp and Charles Awurum.
The arrival of the three Nigerians in Ghana in February sparked an outpouring of criticism on social media. For many critics, it was a mistake for Lil Win to recruit Nigerians to star in a movie about Ghana when there are many talented actors in the country.

But according to Director Famousthose who criticized Lil Win didn’t know what went on behind the scenes to make such a decision.
In an interview with A television from Ghanaclaimed that Lil Win originally intended to give fellow Ghanaian actor Van Vicker the high-profile role that eventually went to Nigerian superstar Ramsey Noah.
He said plans were already well advanced when Van Vicker unexpectedly pulled out of the project before filming for undisclosed reasons.
This last-minute withdrawal left Lil Win and his team scrambling to find a replacement for the role, which is a vital part of the film.
Although he had no plans to bring in Nigerians, disappointment from Van Vicker and others forced him to look elsewhere to fill the role.
