Maataa Opare is Head of the Legal Group at Fidelity Bank and a Director of ECG
Around the world, women continue to play important roles not only in their own organizations but also in a variety of fields that are making their mark on history.
Over the years in Ghana, women have gradually become important figures in the growth, development and sustainability of institutions large and small, from banks, technology companies, agriculture, finance, politics and even law.
Added to this growing list is Mataa Opare, who turns out to be the daughter of Ghana’s current Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei Opare.
Further investigation revealed that Ms Marta Opare is currently working as Group Head of Legal Affairs and Company Secretary at Fidelity Bank Limited in Accra.
According to the bank’s website, Marta has more than 16 years of experience as an in-house lawyer for financial institutions, including property litigation and product liability matters at Hogan Lovells in the UK.
She is also a lawyer in the Supreme Court of England and Wales and has been called to the Bar in Ghana.
Mr Mataa is said to be entitled to dual jurisdiction.
She moved to Ghana in 2012 and worked for Fidelity Bank Limited, where she held key roles including the acquisition and integration of ProCredit Savings and Loans.
At ECG, she was sworn in as a member of the electricity distribution company’s nine-member board of directors in July 2021. She also serves as Patron of ECG Power Her Queen and Trustee of the Ghana Head of State Awards. Duke of Edinburgh Plan.
In addition to her diverse background, Maataa Opare holds a Master’s degree in Professional Cake Design.
She is known for creating a variety of masterpieces, including a 30-cake installation for the ICGC 30th anniversary celebration.
