Kolkata Knight Riders decimated Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 7 wickets in the 10th match of IPL 2024 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday. RCB batted first, scoring 182 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. KKR dominated the run chase as the Shreyas Iyer-led side clinched the target in just 16.5 overs losing three wickets. KKR’s Sunil Narine took a wicket and scored 47 runs off 22 balls to produce a total match performance and was adjudged the man of the match.
Virat Kohli’s blitzkrieg of 83 runs off 59 balls helped the hosts post a respectable total but ended up being a lost cause. However, Kohli’s recent innings have made him the leading run-scorer in the current edition of the tournament and the reigning holder of the Orange Cap.
In the ongoing IPL 2024, Kohli has amassed 181 runs in three matches at a brilliant average of 90.50. In the three innings played by the former India captain, he has hit 15 fours and hit seven sixes at an overall strike rate of 141.41.
