In a sad revelation, a nursing mother has come forward saying she lost her three-day-old baby at Tema General Hospital on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, due to a power outage at the facility.
Rashida Abubakar Tetteh, a 24-year-old mother, shared her heartbreaking testimony, saying doctors at the cat ward told her her infant would not survive because critical medical equipment was not working during the power outage.

The baby’s grandmother, Rebecca Johnson, also shared the pain of losing a child under such circumstances and expressed frustration at the hospital’s alleged lack of preparation for the power outage.
However, Tema General Hospital was quick to respond to these allegations and refuted claims that a power outage resulted in deaths within the facility.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, March 27, the hospital categorically dismissed these claims as baseless and urged the public to ignore them.
