to start
Dr. Nduom explained that the original purpose was to provide students with seed money to start small and medium-sized enterprises while they were still in school. However, this plan was interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.
“Some of our graduates may remember the promise I made to the first eight students who came here to establish our institution. The idea was we’d give you some money to start a business while you were on campus. It wasn’t a promise.”Today, after receiving their degrees, the eight students each received $1,000 in cash. I accept it,” he said at the graduation ceremony.
invest wisely
The business consultant urged the beneficiaries to invest wisely instead of spending money on temporary pleasures.
“We don’t want them to spend that money on food and drink, but instead find productive ways to start a business or invest in their future.”
Dr. Nduom further assured that the institute is committed to securing employment for all 25 graduates.
“As the first graduating class, we look forward to working with you to help you find productive work and gain great life experiences.”
quality education
Dr Nduom said the graduation was a testament to the university’s dedication to providing quality education in business and technology. He reiterated the school’s goal to be a leader in these areas and emphasized the practical and positive learning environment it provides as an excellent resource for academic development.
He advised graduates on the importance of perseverance and optimism, and to cherish every opportunity. He also urged him to maintain the friendships he made during his time at the school as they are important.
Dr. Nduomu urged the incoming students to emulate the hard work and dedication of the graduates and pursue academic excellence.
The Rector of NSBT, Rev. Daniel Adjepong Nyarko, said the school had made efforts to forge partnerships with international universities, especially in the United States.
He said NSBT, in collaboration with the Ivorian Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education and Training, improved the English proficiency of 197 Ivorian students.
He stressed that the Department of International Relations plans to further promote such cooperative efforts.
Professor Nyarko commended the leadership of the University of Cape Coast and thanked the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) for its support.
Mr. Emmanuel Newman, President of the Ghana Higher Education Commission, encouraged graduates to use their education to solve social problems and secure employment.
He emphasized that the skills learned are versatile and can be applied in different fields, regardless of the field of study.
“It doesn’t matter what you studied. If you study history, you can start a farm. With your skills, you can bring people together and farm. It doesn’t mean farm yourself. ” Newman said.
He pointed out that NSBT is on the verge of becoming an accredited independent university, given that it has all the necessary facilities and resources to operate at such a level.
