Yangoa ride-hailing service in Ghana, has announced the implementation of new safety and security features aimed at its implementation.
Selfies for new users
Yango now integrates a feature that asks for a selfie from new users to submit a ride request.
The passenger will also see the driver’s selfie for the same reasons. Before the trip, drivers have access to the passenger’s trip count and ratings based on feedback from previous trips.
Passengers can now also view detailed driver partner information such as photo, name, vehicle license plate and rating before their ride.
Check for drivers
All cooperating drivers will undergo regular verification procedures, including facial recognition checksto ensure their identity and maintain the integrity of the platform.
Audio recording function
Yango has implemented a “crash button” feature, allowing drivers to record audio in the event of safety incidents.
This recorded audio is stored securely and is only accessible by Yango’s dedicated support team, ensuring privacy and confidentiality.
In addition, drivers have the ability to provide feedback about passengers and refuse trips in certain areas deemed dangerous without facing penalties.
