Sam George and Sister Darby

Deborah Vanessa revealed this in a recently published interview with YouTuber Kwadwo Sheldon after appearing at Medical’s Indigo O2 Arena concert on May 3, 2024.
She expressed dissatisfaction with claims that she was friends with Sam George during their time at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), saying she had no recollection of interacting with him other than on Twitter.
The Darby sisters said they had no negative feelings towards anyone and clarified that they did not hate him.
She accused George of promoting an anti-LGBT+ agenda for political gain and argued that homosexuality is part of African history and culture, contrary to some claims.
In response to claims that Sam George went to her children’s school, North Legon Little Angels School, to discuss LGBT+ topics with students, Sister Darby said she was not gay. , denied any edifying intent and asked questions. The logic behind such accusations.
Describing what happened during her visit, she said she was there to give a Career Day talk and was faced with unexpected questions about LGBTQ issues from students.
“I was invited to speak at Career Day, and there were eight authority figures in the room. So how do we edify people?
“They were asking me questions. They brought up the LGBTQ thing. I didn’t bring it up. They brought it up.
“When I got there, they asked me a lot of questions and I even wondered when I was going to get to the career part.
“And they also asked me about ‘Wo Fie.’ When I looked at the teachers and other authority figures, everyone was quiet and calm. And they (the children) were like, what is this? People started asking me what was the inspiration for the song.
“So I told them how an office set up for gay safety and counseling had been raided by the authorities, claimed to be a brothel, and given false information.
“And I relate that to the bill and how stupid this bill is and that there are more important issues we should be focusing on, like a lack of hospital beds, bad roads, a lack of drinking water. I told him, and that was it.”
Sister Darby also addressed allegations that she had advised one male student to enter into a same-sex relationship with another male student, branding such claims false.
“One boy asked me, ‘If he’s straight and a gay man says he’s OK, what should he do?’ I was like, ‘Take it as a compliment.’ .
“But I never told boys to like boys if they wanted to, because if there were queer kids in my class, I didn’t want them to feel like I was exposing them. , I would never say that,” she said.
She repeatedly concluded that the allegations against her are false, noting that video evidence does not support the claims of her detractors.
“If I actually said that, why am I sitting here comfortably? Because everything he said was a lie,” she said.
Meanwhile, the bill, which has passed Congress and is awaiting the president’s signature, would criminalize LGBT+ activities and impose prison terms on those involved in or promoting such acts.
