Record 2.38 million Fantasy Premier League Managers used a chip in Double Gameweek 37 (DGW37), setting an all-time record in the game.
This week’s tally narrowly beats the previous best of 2.35m, which was set earlier this season in Double Gameweek 25.
Chips used in DGW37
French fries | Total |
---|---|
Bench reinforcement | 1,301,910 |
Triple Captain | 726,437 |
Wild card | 200,304 |
Free hit | 150,332 |
Over 726,000 have used their Triple Captain chip, the second highest total this season after the 1.58m record set at DGW25.
More than 200,000 have Wildcarded and 150,000+ have played their Free Hit chip.
But by far the most popular chip was Bench Boost, which was used by 1.3 million managers, setting ANOTHER record.
Six teams play twice in DGW37, making it the perfect time for managers to use Bench Boost as they can double the chances of their substitutes producing returns.
It’s just the second time more than 1 million Bench Boost chips have been played in a Gameweek, surpassing last season’s high of 1.1m from Double Gameweek 29.

With Manchester City among the teams competing twice, it’s no surprise to see Erling Haaland selected as the Triple Captain’s top choice.
Haaland disappointed his supporters by disappointing in Saturday’s 4-0 win at Fulham, but he has another chance to make an impact when he returns to London on Tuesday as Manchester City visit Tottenham.

Cole Palmer (£6.3m) is the main differential option for those using the Triple Captain chip.
Chelsea visit Nottingham Forest in Saturday’s final game before traveling to Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday.
Palmer is joint-top of the Fantasy player rankings and heads into DGW37 with 224 points, having posted a league-leading 10 double-digit sacks in 2023/24.
Alexander Isaac (£8.4m) completes the top three.
Like Haaland, he was ruled out for the opening match of the Double Gameweek as Newcastle United drew 1-1 at home to Brighton & Hove Albion, but he has a second chance against Manchester United on Wednesday.
