Prince Harry and his wife Meghan were treated to street-style dancing in Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday, where they unveiled a partnership between the Archewell Foundation and the non-profit Giants of Africa, which uses sport to empower young people.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are visit Africa’s most populous nation for the first time at the invitation of Nigeria’s Chief of Defense Staff.
At Ilupeju Senior Grammar School in Lagos Mainland, the couple attended a basketball practice and Harry took to the court for some bouncing ball drills and to shoot a hoop.
“What you are doing here at Giants of Africa is truly amazing,” he said. “The power of sport can change lives. It brings people together and creates community and there are no barriers, which is the most important thing.”

The Archewell Foundation and Giants of Africa will build a basketball court in the capital Abuja.
Former Toronto Raptors star Masai Ujiri, president of the Giants of Africa, wished Meghan a happy Mother’s Day and said his organization unites communities and uplifts young people through sports, especially basketball.
Dressed in a Caroline Herrera button-down shirt and a gifted Nigerian skirt, Meghan said she first heard about Giants of Africa in Toronto, where she lived for seven years while making hit TV legal drama Suits.
“Talk about coming full circle again – I never thought we could be here all these years later supporting the expansion of this incredible organization,” he said.
Harry and Meghan were about to complete theirs Trip to Lagos attending a reception for a local charity. The couple live in the United States with their two children after Harry stopped working as a member of the royal family in 2020.
