- Photos have surfaced online showing the plush interior of the antique car Otumfuo was riding in
Oumfuo Osei Tutu II culminated the 25th anniversary of his accession as Asantehene with a grand durbar at Manhyia Palace.
Arriving at the durbar, Otumfuo rode majestically in a motorcade of luxurious vehicles. Notable among these cars were two of his antique collections.

A video has been shared GTVThe Facebook page showed a mission rider driving the old Rolls-Royce Phantom, which had the Asante flag on it to signify that Otumfuo was riding in that car.
Close behind was another vintage Rolls-Royce, a 20/25 first used by Prempeh II in 1935. Other cars, including Toyota Land Cruisers, were also part of the entourage.

The 1950 Rolls-Royce Phantom IV
According to Daily Graphicthe Rolls-Royce Otumfuo that entered his durbar was no ordinary car because it was a big deal in its heyday.
From 1950 to 1956, only eighteen Rolls-Royce Phantom IVs were built and sold to different buyers, including the British Royal Family and other world heads of state.
A look at Otumfuo’s Rolls-Royce Phantom IV
Days after the durbar, exclusive photos showing the interior of Otumfuo’s Rolls-Royce Phantom IV have surfaced online.
The Minister of Energy Dr. Matthew Opoku Prebe share the photoswhich showed a close-up view of the front, back and sides of the car.
The interior has an all-white leather seating design with gold accents. The Asanthene emblem is boldly embossed on the seat heads in gold.

Meanwhile, a refrigerator purchased for the Asantehene’s use in 1950 is still in operation at the Manhyia Palace Museum.
According to a curator, the refrigerator’s engine and gas had not been changed since it was purchased 74 years ago.
A video of the fridge sparked a mixture of intrigue and disbelief among social media users, but later, information revealed the brand and other details.
