Imani Africa President Franklin Cudjoe has warned the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to be wary of the upcoming 2024 general elections.
He said if things go wrong and the NDC wins the region’s 2024 parliamentary elections, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) will claim there were problems with the creation of the Nguan constituency. It is said that there is a possibility.
“The NDC must be careful because I understand this is the stronghold of the NDC. I said to Fred Agbeño, you will regret it, even if you win that seat. , the NPP will quietly come back and claim that the process that led to the creation of this whole thing itself created the problem and you will lose your seat,” he said.He said JoyNews News Night on wednesday.
This claim by President Imani Africa follows his accusation that the Electoral Commission (EC) deprived residents of Santrokofi, Apukafu, Lolobi and Lipke (SALL) of their right to vote in the 2020 parliamentary elections. It was issued after being rejected.
However, the European Commission said in a statement on Tuesday, May 14, that IMANI’s accusations are “false and baseless.”
“The commission never disenfranchised the good people of the newly created Guan constituency. It is not in our interest to do so,” the statement reads in part.
The EC clarified that it complied with all legal formalities in establishing the newly created Guan constituency and did not deprive any residents of their rights in the process.
“It is unfortunate that IMANI continues to spread falsehoods and untruths about the commission at every turn. [Franklin Cudjoe’s] The narrative that the commission disenfranchised the people of SALL (now Guan constituency) is false. We call on the public to verify the truth and facts of the information released by IMANI with the Commission. ”

However, Cudjoe warned the NDC on the show that the party’s parliamentary candidates could be denied victory in the upcoming December 2024 general election.
“The NDC should listen and listen clearly and should talk to the party’s big lawyers. I have talked to many of them and I have also talked to outside lawyers and this is a big trap. Yes, they should be careful.
“Even when they created these so-called districts, they said SALL on the schedule and called them SALL traditional districts. The other districts they created were properly named ‘districts,’ but they called it a “traditional district.”
“This means that as we speak, the CI has not been fixed and the EC continues to tell people and give assurances. “I don’t trust them, they took away SALL’s rights,” Cudjoe claimed.
