The flag bearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged his main rival, John Dramani Mahama, to be patient and give him the chance to serve as president.
Dr. Bawumia, who visited the palace of Wa Na Husseini Seidu Perpuo IV on Sunday, May 19, stressed that although Mr. Mahama has already served as president, he has not yet been given the opportunity. He therefore called on Mr Mahama to exercise restraint and give him the opportunity to take his turn as president.
Dr. Bawumia pointed out that according to the constitution, Mr. Mahama is only allowed to serve one term, but if elected he could serve two terms.
Despite participating in political campaigns, Dr. Bawumia stressed that his focus is on addressing issues that are important to Ghanaians rather than resorting to insults and personal attacks against his opponents.
