Olam Agri in Nigeria, a leading agribusiness in food, feed and fiber, is set to promote the rich cultural diversity of the African continent.
The business marked Africa Day 2024 with lavish celebrations on Friday, May 31, 2024 at its headquarters in the country.
Africa Day is celebrated on May 25u annually. It is dedicated to celebrating the vast cultural heritage of the continent. It also focuses on highlighting the economic potential of the continent, while encouraging dynamic actions to achieve greater prosperity and unity among countries.
This year’s theme which emphasized education as a critical driver to drive growth on the continent was complemented by Olam Agri’s unique focus on driving, “Embrace the richness, diversity and spirit of Africa.”
Led by Country Head, Anil Nair, the agribusiness hosted its staff members in a celebration that showcased its African heritage, diverse workforce, hospitality and commitment to promoting the unique cultural heritage of its host markets .
The celebration included dance groups playing to the rhythm of African drums, cultural dances, pleasant exchanges and local games. Workers dressed in different regional costumes from the famous Babban Riga and Juanni to the handmade Aso-Oke and Agbada, Isiagu, Akwette and various other traditional styles that extend into the wider African culture.
Staff members participated in team bonding sessions, received exciting gifts, danced to popular local songs and were treated to delicious local cuisine.
