Microsoft’s Xbox team on Sunday unveiled its upcoming action-packed video games and a new digital-only version of its console that will be released by the end of this year.
Hundreds of thousands of fans who tuned into the streaming event got a glimpse of the titles, including the highly anticipated “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” which will be released on October 25.
The latest installment in the groundbreaking military first-person shooter franchise is set in the 1990s after the fall of the Soviet Union, where “the truth is not what it seems,” Xbox gaming chief Phil Spencer said after previewing a campaign in the title.
Spencer emphasized that the new “Call of Duty” and many other games will be available from launch day on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.
He noted that more than 100 million people play Call of Duty monthly, and added that Xbox wants to boost those numbers with the availability of “Black Ops 6” in the Game Pass cloud.

Xbox also unveiled a “Gears of War: E-Day” addition to that powerful military shooter title and an “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” game coming later this year that pits a Harrison Ford-like character against Nazi foes .
Xbox also showed off new installments of “Doom,” “Dragon Age” and a “Life is Strange” sequel that promises to solve a supernatural murder mystery.
The video game titan also unveiled expansion packs for popular games including “World of Warcraft” as well as fresh “Fallout” content that will include a playable ghoul character in a nod to the hit Amazon Prime TV series based on the franchise from the Bethesda Studio. it now belongs to Xbox.
“It’s our mission to make Xbox the best place to play, including titles from our own studios and Game Pass at launch,” said Xbox president Sarah Bond as she unveiled the new Xbox consoles including a digital model to be released later. This year.

He claimed that Xbox is working on future hardware with the goal of “enabling you to play your games anywhere on Xbox consoles, PCs and the cloud.”
Pricing for the new Xbox consoles was not disclosed.
The streaming showcase is part of a week of presentations from game makers that is replacing E3, a long-running video game trade show that ended a 20-year run in 2023.
Microsoft earlier this year shook up the video game world with assurances that it was making some once-exclusive Xbox video games available to play on rival consoles.
“Over the next five or 10 years, games that are exclusive to one piece of hardware will be a smaller and smaller part of the gaming industry,” Spencer said on a podcast at the time.
But Xbox is not changing its “fundamental exclusive strategy,” with “no promises” of more games to come, he said.
