The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) warned that storms with strong winds were occurring in parts of southern Ghana, including the surrounding sea areas.
The storm could bring moderate to strong winds that could break tree branches and damage vulnerable structures, the weather agency said in a notice issued on June 6.

“Flash flooding is expected in low-lying areas, please do not walk or drive through floodwaters,” the notice said.
According to GMet, the weather conditions are caused by a moderate storm spreading from southern Benin to Togo, with most of its impacts occurring over the ocean.
GMet said the storm is expected to move westward, producing clouds and bringing thunderstorms or rain.
Areas expected to be moderately affected include Ho, Hohoe, Aflao, Denu, Keta, Akutatsi, Adidomu, Agbozume, Sogakope, Sege, Adafoa, Prampram, Dawenya, Accra, Tema, Madina, Dodowa, Ablekuma, Pokuase and surrounds.
Koforidua, Akim Oda, Abetifi, Kwafu, Kumasi, Obuasi, Ejura Winneba, Afranshi and Odoben districts are expected to be minorly affected.
Meanwhile, Cape Coast, Mankessim, Twifo Hemang, Elmina, Saltpond, Takoradi, Axim, Prestia, Enchi and surrounding areas are expected to be minimally affected by the weather conditions.
