London, United Kingdom: The Professional Triathlon Organization (PTO) and World Triathlon confirmed the 18 contracts T100 male athletes competing London T100 Triathlon on July 27-28, including British stars Alistair Brownlie, twelve years on from his legendary London 2012 Olympic gold, and David McNamee.
He competes in all three T100 races so far – Miami, Singapore and San Francisco – believes the two-time Olympian London T100 the race offers his best chance.
“The games in London hold very special memories for me, for obvious reasons,” Brownlee said. “I think the conditions will give me the best chance to win a T100 match this season. I like the course, the temperature will be what I’m used to and I know the home crowd will come out and support us, which can make a huge difference.”
But the competition will be fierce. Also in London will be the T100 series leader and PTO World #1 American Sam Long, third Dane Magnus Ditlev, who won the Miami T100 and one of the Brownlees long-time triathlon rivals, Spain’s Javier Gomez. Making his first T100 Appearing after more than a year out with injury will be Australian Max Neumann who won the PTO big race in Ibiza last year before being injured.

The London marquee race features a closed road course run entirely in central London, with the women competing at 14:00 local time on Saturday 27 July and the men at 14:00 local time on Sunday 28 July. Starting and finishing at London’s ExCel exhibition centre, the swim is at the sheltered Royal Victoria Dock. There is a multi-lap cycling course from Docklands to Westminster and back. and ends with a multi-lap run around the Docklands.
As well as professional matches, the London T100 Triathlon The weekend offers opportunity for everyone take part, with 5,000 amateur athletes making this one of the biggest Triathlons in the world. Amateur race distances include:
- Super Sprint Triathlon (0.4km Swim, 10km Bike, 2.5km Run)
- Sprint triathlon (0.75 km swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run)
- Olympic Triathlon (1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run)
- T100 Triathlon (2 km swim, 80 km bike, 18 km run)
The T100 triathlon distance sold out due to high demand. There are few places left for the Olympic, Sprint and Super Sprint distances, but they are expected to sell out over the next two days. A reminder of how the T100 Triathlon World Tour works
- Each contracted athlete must complete a minimum of 5 events plus the Grand Final. Although the competition obligations for athletes who have qualified and will compete in the Olympic Games have been reduced.
- Athletes will earn 35 points for first place up to 1 point for 20th place in each race
- Grand Final increased points to top previous (55 points down to 4 points)
- The three best of each athlete T100 The scores of the games plus the Grand Final will count towards the opening women’s and men’s heats T100 World Championship
- USD 250,000 prize fund for each T100totaling $2,000,000 across the eight races (1st place – $25,000, 2nd – $16,000, 3rd – $12,000 in each race)
- Series winners after the Grand Final will be crowned T100 Triathlon World Champion and collect $210,000 USD of an additional total prize pool of $2,000,000
