Indy Ignite is the first new team to begin player signings
DALLAS, July 3, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Pro Volleyball Federation – the premier professional volleyball league in the United States – has changed calendars and is looking forward to its second season. With the page turned on a new financial year July 1stteams have been allowed to sign players to fill out rosters for the 2025 campaign.
One team included in this group is Indy Ignite, who will be playing at the brand new Fishers Events Center – set to open in November. Ignite has officially announced that 10 players are already a part of their roster as the signing period begins on June 30.
The total is the second most announced of any of the eight league teams that have announced signings for next season. The Pro Volleyball Federation now has rosters for its eight teams that will take the court in 2025 – Atlanta Vibe, Columbus FuryGrand Rapids Rise, Indy Ignite, Omaha Supernovas, Orlando Valkyries, San Diego Mojo and Vegas Thrill.
Player rewrites have included some of the top players from both the United States and international championships. Among the returnees are Leah Edmond (Championship MVP), Morgan Hants (Libero of the Year), Reagan Cooper (Rising Star Award) and Alisha Childress (Most Inspirational Player). Ignite secured its services Sydney Hilley as part of her harvest after being named MVP of the 2024 Professional Volleyball Federation Championship. In total, 72 players signed in the first two days alone.
Launched in 2024, the Pro Volleyball Federation has generated strong interest and fan engagement by attracting world-class players and coaches. The League was recognized for its direct commitment to the highest level and quality of play as well as its investment and treatment of its players.
“The inaugural season of the Pro Volleyball Association was a fan favorite and brought impressive community involvement and economic impact wherever we played,” he said. The League posted a total of just under 400,000 fans with four million game views on YouTube. “We have a unique commitment to our players – to see and treat them as professional athletes,” Spicher said.
The league plans to continue to be a leader in player compensation, offering increased salaries for 2025 through $175,000along with additional benefits of approx $10,000 per player, making the league one of the strongest financial contributors to women’s professional sports.
