The son of the late former President of Ghana, John Evans Atta Mills, has been spotted actively participating in an NDC health walk in the Northern Region.
Kofi Sam Atta Mills led the march over the weekend alongside his colleague, John Dramani Mahama, the son of a former president – a now common sight for the sons of prominent politicians to take part in such political activities.
They joined hundreds of supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who, along with John Mahama’s son, Sharaf Dramani Mahama, walked through the streets of Tamale to show their readiness for the December general elections.
The march is also aimed at efforts to increase voting patterns in favour of the NDC in the general elections scheduled for 2024, which the party has described as a mission to save Ghana from the ruling NPP.
Kofi Atta Mills took part in the health walk to inspire Ghanaian youth to “reset the country for the better” by increasing vote turnout for the NDC and John Dramani Mahama.
It will be recalled that Mr Mahama served as Vice President to the late President John Evans Atta Mills.
It is for this reason that Kofi Atta Mills decided to take part in a health walk in Tamale with Sharaf Dramani Mahama.
Prominent figures in the party who took part in the health walk included former Minority Leader in Parliament, Haruna Idris, Member of Parliament for Tamale North, Alhassan Suhiyini, Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Murtala Mohammed, Northern Regional Chairman of the NDC and self-described workaholic of the NDC, Henry Osei Akoto.
Speaking at the health walk, Henry Osei Akoto said, “There is no difference between President Akufo-Addo and the oppressors that Dr Kwame Nkrumah fought in Ghana before and after Ghana’s independence in the 1950s until the 1960s.”
He added that if the NDC wins the presidential election on December 7, 2024, it will mark Ghana’s second Independence Day.
