A Vision for the Future
With the establishment of ICUMS, Dr. Ansah focuses on future innovations. It envisions integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning into the platform to enhance predictive capabilities, potentially revolutionizing customs processes. “Artificial intelligence could predict problems before they occur, allowing for proactive measures,” he suggested.
Further plans include integrating ICUMS with global tracking systems such as DHL and FedEx, enabling real-time shipment tracking and reducing the risk of delays. In addition, Dr Ansah aims to deploy Internet of Things (IoT) devices at the ports for real-time updates and optimize goods storage conditions.
Dr. Ansah is also considering the development of mobile applications for ICUMS to improve the user experience for traders and customs officials and facilitate more efficient customs procedures.
