Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan who has been detained in Nigeria after being accused of financial wrongdoing by Binance, is reportedly being denied access to his legal team.
According to his press release Mondo-Consultingthe communications agency for the Gambaryan family, Tigran’s health rapidly deteriorated.
He has also previously contracted malaria in Nigerian custody and collapsed in court.

In February this year, Tigran Gambaryan along with another Binance executive Nadeem Anjarwalla were invited by the Nigerian government over concerns of financial malfeasance and tax fraud by the crypto company.
Both were arrested and detained by Nigerian authorities. Nadeem reportedly absconded and fled the country.
In June 2024, it was reported that Nigeria had dropped charges against the two executives, but Tigran remains in custody.
Digging deeper
According to Tigran’s legal team, they have been denied access to their client since July 26u. The team said his health has deteriorated and he has a herniated disc that would require surgery.

His wife Yuki has made a desperate plea to the Nigerian government to release her husband so he can receive the medical treatment he needs.
“My husband Tigran left our home for a work trip almost six months ago and I have no idea when he will return. Now his health is in a shockingly bad condition and is getting worse day by day.
I am pleading with the Nigerian government to release him so that he can return home and receive the medical treatment he urgently needs before it is too late.”
