Actor and politician John Dumelo has stepped up his campaign to become an MP after the 2024 general election.
In his latest move, the NDC parliamentary aspirant renovated the reading room at Limann Hall, located at the Legon campus of the University of Ghana.
The renovation is part of Dumelo’s efforts to facilitate more accessible learning for students and is a strategic move in his campaign for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Revealing the news on his Instagram page, Dumelo shared a video of himself and others inspecting the newly renovated venue.

Sharing the video he said:
“We (me and JCR staff) renovated the reading room of Limann Hall to help students learn effectively. More such projects are in progress….#idey4u.”
Dumelo’s political journey
THE star actor is vying for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency seat where he will challenge the incumbent, Lydia Alhassan of the NPP. After narrowly losing to Alhassan in the 2020 election, Dumelo is determined to secure a victory in the upcoming race.
Apart from the renovation, Dumelo has been a frequent presence at the Legon campus dealing with various student issues.
He has paid the tuition of some students, provided laptops to others and even supplied the campus community with fresh produce from his farm.
