Ghanaian actor and politician, Prince David Osei, has declared his support for his colleague, John Dumelo, in his bid to become a Member of Parliament.
Dumelo is running for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). His main contender is the incumbent, Lydia Alhassan, of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Although Prince Davido Osei supports the NPP and campaigned for Alhassan against Dumelo in 2020, he has made a U-turn this time.

Speaking to Serwaa Amihere on GhOne TV, Osei revealed that his choice to endorse John Dumelo stems from his frustration with the current MP.
He said he was not appreciated by Alhassan after campaigning on her behalf in the previous election.
“I don’t care about the candidate there… We stood on a platform and campaigned for the woman last time. And she was ungrateful. So even though I am a full-fledged NPP and I speak with authority, I will support John,” he stated.
He added that the decision to support Dumelo stems from his desire to see someone from the creative arts industry representing his interests in Parliament.

Dumelo is renovating the Limann Hall reading room
Meantime, YEN.com.gh reported that Dumelo is continuing his campaign to become Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.
He earned credits by renovating the Limann Hall Reading Room at the University of Ghana.
A video of the gesture shared online by Dumelo drew admiration from his many online fans.
