Actress and TV presenter Nana Ama McBrown has appealed to the US Embassy in Ghana to reconsider the travel ban imposed on her some years ago.
McBrown revealed in March 2023 that she was deported from the US in 2001, which resulted in her daring to act upon her return to Ghana.

Speaking to Captain Smart during her unveiling as Onua Showtime host of Onua TV, the actress explained that her uncle took her to the US but her stay was cut short because she was deported shortly after she arrived.
In a recent interview with Bola Ray on Starr FM’s Starr Chat, McBrown revisited the issue of her deportation from the US.
The star actress made an impassioned plea during her conversation with Bola, asking the US Embassy to review her ban and consider lifting it.
According to her, she maintains a good record since the incident and is not a bad person.
“And I beg them. Please, American Embassy, reconsider. When you look at my record, I’m not a bad person. I was never a bad person. Because I really knew what I had done and I wanted to fix it,” she pleaded.

McBrown states why she “freed” 47 prisoners
Meantime, YEN.com.gh reported that McBrown had also spoken about why she decided to release 47 prisoners to mark her 47th birthday.
In a video, she said her original plan was to free a pregnant prisoner, but unfortunately, a church beat her, hence a change in plan to free 47 prisoners.
