Starlink updated it website to show the price of Starlink service in Ghana. The company will charge the users GHC 770 as monthly fee to access its service.

The company’s website has also updated its pricing for the Starlink hardware kit that will apply 5,390 GHC for a one-time purchase.
The service plan for Starlink in Ghana includes; unlimited data meaning that users have no data caps on their usage, but will be subject to Starlink Fair Use Policy.

The National Communications Authority approved Starlink’s license and operations in Ghana last week and said the company was due to be operational by the end of August 2024.
Because this matters
Given the current state of the Ghanaian economy, it appears that Starlink is subsidizing the price of its service, even though at the time of this publication, the USD to Ghana Cedi exchange rate is $1 = ~GHC15. In the US, Starlink kits retail for $499 and $120 as a monthly service fee.
Starlink founder Elon Musk is known to be aggressive with pricing. Starlink has reportedly launched a rental scheme in Kenya for users to rent Starlink kits for customers to accelerate penetration into the Kenyan market.
Comparing the Competition
Currently, most fiber ISPs in Ghana provide a lower price tier depending on how much data you want to consume.
MTN current charges GHC 300 for 195.97GB. Its closest competitor Telecel tariff GHC 410 for 290GB.
