Accra, Ghana, September 6, 2024 – MEST of Africa hosted an event that served as both a showcase and celebration of developments in Ghana’s agro-technical ecosystem.
The event offered a unique opportunity for attendees to interact and engage with key industry players through interactive presentations and discussions.
The event also featured a short preview of a documentary that provided a comprehensive overview of Ghana’s Agritech landscape.
The film features three leading companies—Complete Farmer, Farmerline and Agro Innova— each making significant strides in agricultural technology and sustainability.
The goal of this event was to kick off the first of a five-part series while giving attendees a 360° view and engagement with the industry.
Each episode delves into the challenges facing traditional agriculture and showcases the cutting-edge solutions being developed to address issues such as climate change, supply chain inefficiencies and access to finance.
From drones that monitor crop health to mobile platforms that connect farmers to markets, a documentary preview showed both local startups and global tech giants working to modernize the industry.
The event was also attended by different exhibitors in the agricultural space including Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC), AgroInnova, and Feed Future.
MEST Africa’s initiative comes at a critical time as the debate around sustainable agriculture gains momentum. With climate change threatening traditional farming methods, technological solutions offer a path to more resilient and sustainable agricultural practices.
