Ghanaian musician Okyeame Kwame weighed in on the recent protest against illegal mining known as galamsey.
In an X post, the famous musician pleaded with Ghanaians not to point fingers of blame or politicize the galamshi fight since it has been a problem in the country for decades.
Posing on a bridge that sits over a polluted body of water suspected of being swept away by the effects of galamsey, the Whoso The hitmaker noted that most Ghanaian presidents who have assumed office are guilty of the threat.

“Let’s not politicize Galamsey. Every president of Ghana in the last 35 years is guilty of this environmental crime. Every chief or landowner who allows this crime is guilty. Every minister of health and environmentalist who remains silent is guilty. Every artist like me He who remains silent is guilty, it’s time to stop this national shame,” he wrote.

The Ghana Police Service, in a press release on social media, explained that they arrested the protesters for attempting to disturb the peace and obstruct traffic on the roads.
