In an important occasion attended by more than 500 students, TECNO, an innovative technology giant, proudly launched the ‘TECNO Future Star Initiative’ on October 18, 2023, at the ISSER Conference Hall.
Developed in partnership with the esteemed University of Ghana, College of Humanities, this pioneering scholarship program is poised to recognize and support the remarkable talent of undergraduate students across Africa who are driving technological change with scholarships worth GH₵100,000.

This partnership with the University of Ghana, College of Humanities, strengthens the academic credentials of the initiative and ensures that the program reaches a wide and diverse range of students.
To further ignite the spark of innovation and promote the power of technology, TECNO also highlighted the renovation of a Student Experience Center in the New College of Humanities Office.
This dedicated space will be equipped with TECNO’s flagship MegabookT1 laptops and a variety of smart devices from the TECNO AIOT ecosystem, providing students with the opportunity to explore, learn and have fun with cutting-edge technology to promote creativity and innovation .
Under the banner of “Empower the Pioneer”, the TECNO Future Star Initiative is a testament to TECNO’s unwavering commitment to nurture the potential of Africa’s youth and empower the leaders of tomorrow.
With a firm belief in the transformative power of education, TECNO has one resolute goal: to inspire and support young students pursuing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) courses. TECNO recognizes that Africa’s young talents are the driving force behind the continent’s technological developments and it is TECNO’s duty to empower them to fulfill their dreams and reach their full potential.
Mr. Ernest Sonkor, National Channel Manager at TECNO, presented his remarks on the launch of this important initiative, stating: “At TECNO, we recognize that Africa’s youth are the pioneers of tomorrow. We want to encourage students who specialize in STEM subjects to push their limits, achieve excellence and never stop striving for greatness. Through the TECNO Future Star Initiative, we aim to be a catalyst for change, a source of inspiration and a driving force for Africa’s technological transformation.”
University of Ghana, College of Humanities professor, Professor Daniel Frimpong Ofori took to the stage to commend TECNO for this pioneering partnership.
In his speech, he praised the initiative as proof of TECNO’s commitment to education and innovation. He emphasized that this partnership will make a significant contribution to education within the College of Humanities, enhancing academic development and cultivating the next generation of leaders in the STEM fields. The Provost expressed his gratitude to TECNO for its dedication to empowering students and strengthening the education landscape in Africa. The collaboration, he noted, will undoubtedly help bridge the gap between academic excellence and real-world technological advances.
The University of Ghana, College of Humanities has pledged its full support for the initiative, recognizing it as a vital step towards strengthening the educational base of the institution and promoting innovation among STEM students.
