Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has urged the newly appointed Minister of Finance, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adamu, to expedite strategic policies to address the current economic challenges facing the country. encouraged them to introduce it.
In his meeting with the Minister of Finance, Mr. Asantehene emphasized the importance of collaboration with Treasury officials and urged Dr. Adamu to consider their insights.
He commended former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta for initiating measures to address economic difficulties and encouraged the new Finance Minister to build on his efforts for the benefit of all Ghanaians.
Mr. Otumfuo expressed confidence in Dr. Adamu’s ability to lead the economic turnaround and encouraged him to devise effective strategies and measures.
He underlined the high expectations placed on financial leadership and emphasized the President’s confidence in the ability of the Minister of Finance.
“The President has expressed his confidence in you and has given you the mandate of Minister of Finance. The country is facing economic difficulties, but with the right measures in place, we can expect economic recovery.” .
“Your predecessor has taken several steps as part of his efforts to address the economic situation, and I urge you to continue where your predecessor left off.
“You are not new to the Ministry of Finance, you have already been there. I also strongly encourage you to work closely with the officials of the Ministry so that you can share ideas to achieve the goals set.
“Ghanaians now look up to you on fiscal matters because the president put you in that position.”
In response, the Minister of Finance, Dr. Mohammed Aminu Adamu, said President Akufo-Addo had assigned him the responsibility of overseeing the completion of all stalled infrastructure projects in the Ashanti Region.
“But you also know that we are facing some challenges as a result of having to stall for some time. But I think the President is making sure that these projects are completed in the interest of the people. You also know that I am determined to do so.
