North Tongu Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, said he is not paying much attention to his campaign team ahead of the 2024 general elections.
In his view, Ghanaians don’t care about campaign teams, but rather the manifesto document, which sets out how economic challenges will be solved.
In an unaired interview with TV3’s Keminni Amanor, when asked who the winning National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaign team will be, he said: What’s really important for Ghanaians is that I’m very attached to the manifesto, which is the vision for this country. We’re in a quagmire, but who cares about the campaign team? ”
Mr. Ablakwa also accused the Akufo-Addo government of looting.
In his view, developments under Akufo-Addo’s regime gave the impression as if a brigade of plunder had descended on the country.
In an unaired interview on Hot Issues with TV3’s Kemini Amanor, he said that according to the Auditor General’s report, 87% of road contracts were concluded through sole procurement.
This amounted to looting, he said.
“What is happening now under this Akufo-Addo/Bawumia regime is like a free-for-all, there are no elders in the room, everyone is looting, it is as if a plundering brigade is coming into this country. It’s like coming down,” he said.
He added: “I did not say that the Auditor General of Ghana said that 87 per cent of the road contracts that Ghana entered into were single sourced and non-competitive.”
There must be a National Commission of Inquiry, we are talking about hundreds of millions of cedis.
